What Does Your Pet Fear?

There are a number of things your pet fears and you’re probably are unaware of this. If you see your pet snarling at new visitors or hiding in a corner when it rains, your pet is scared.

These are a few things your cat or dog may fear:

1. Lightning

It’s raining heavily, is your cat or dog hiding in a corner of your house? Do they bark or meow when they’re near the window and lightning strikes? If your answer to this question is yes, then you best keep your little friend away when it rains.

2. New people

You might have people visiting you often and sometimes they might see foreign to your pet. It can go two ways. Either your pet will be excited to see them, or they might bark and stay away. It’s one of the most common things your pet fears and it’s best to calm them by distracting them so they can get friendly with your friends!

3. Loud noises

One of the major fears your cat can have is the fear of loud noises. They usually reciprocate to this by trying to escape or causing destruction. You can avoid this by creating a safe place for your pet.

4. Fear of vets

It’s not unusual for your pet to be afraid of vets. A visit to the vet usually involves new smells, being handled in different ways, even getting vaccinations. This usually evokes a feeling of fear in pets in regard to veterinary clinics.

5. Being left alone

Your pet fears being neglected above everything. If you often leave them alone, they feel lonely and can even get depressed and anxious.

6: Their own reflection

This might sound surprising, but yes, kittens and puppies are usually afraid of their own reflections. They take a while to adapt to their new surroundings, after which this fear fades away.

7. Other animals

Your pet has probably never seen another of their kind before. When they encounter with another animal of their own kind they usually snarl or get angry. The best way to prevent this is to keep them away from strays or pets that they’ve never met before until they’re mature and friendly.
